Document Repository
L.A.W.S./Pro supports a full on-line
document repository. Documents created within the application may be automatically
stored within a client/matter filing system. Externally created documents may be
uploaded into the system and accessed as needed.
All client related data is automatically stored within the "/Clients" folder.
Other folders may be created as desired such as "/MAILMERGE" to contain merge
documents created for, and used, within the L.A.W.S./Pro
Document Creation program.
The Document Repository system allows multiple levels of folders. "/Clients" is a
system created folder used to hold all system generated client/matter documents.
A sub folder is created for each client when a system generated document is created.
Within each client sub-folder are folders segregated by matter.
Within each matter folder are the stored documents specific to each matter.
Documents may be uploaded into the LAWS repository using the "Upload" feature.
Uploading opens an "Upload Document" page. A "Browse" button may be used to
find a document or file stored on your local or network drive. Additional upload
options include the ability to renaming the uploaded document, or the ability to
add a description or keywords further identifying the document.
Various document options are available by left clicking on the document name.
The "Download" option provides the means of either opening the selected document
or saving it to a local drive.
All documents stored in the document repository may be directly accessed from the
L.A.W.S./Pro Activity Calendar.
To utilize this feature enter the desired client and/or matter in the selection
criteria. Change the "View" option to "Documents", then refresh the page.
All folders and/or documents associated with the selected client/matter will be
displayed for user review.
